FDIA is now accepting student enrollment for Pre-K through Grade 8 for the new school year. Please contact us orcall the school at (248) 953-2003 for more information.
I would like to express my gratitude for FDIA and it’s staff…I must say, “I am still very well pleased with the choice made to place my son here”! His 2nd grade semester with Ms. Alston was miraculous, he had so many struggles with reading and spelling to name a few but with the small classroom setting, he was able to get the hands on help he needed! Now my son absolutely loves to read and enjoys spelling. In closing I must say, “the entire staff here is absolutely amazing” Ms. Murphy is always there to help as well as Ms. Brown! The Principal Mr. Faisal is very hands on with the students and is much involved in their academic success. I highly recommend Frederick Douglass International Academy!
Mrs. Beard, Parent of 3rd Grader
What I love about FDIA is the fact that it’s obvious that the staff are there for the kids and not just a paycheck. Principal Faisal is the best principal I’ve come across. It’s very goal driven and I love that they take the time to hear and understand the kids personally. I’ve decided to bring my son back and I will have my sister to enroll her kids her as well for the new school year because I know they are going to get more here than anywhere.
Mrs. Sharp, Parent of 5th Grader
I want to start off by expressing how much I love FDIA! First, this is the best school my children have ever attended. They receive the proper attention they need to learn their class work. My children are not overwhelmed with homework and they come home every day excited about the new things they learn. The classrooms are not over crowded with children. The staff is very warming and welcoming; they are very polite and speak very positive about what goes on with the students’ daily activities. I love my children being around them because they are role models and keep them on their toes. My children look up to the principal Mr. Fiasal, who is well oriented and is very upfront and keeps it 100 with the kids and don’t sugarcoat anything and I like that a lot. I also appreciate Ms. Murphy for always being so helpful and she shows so much patience and understanding with not just my kids, but all of the kids at the school. She is like a mother to everyone, including me. She keeps me well informed of things and I like it that I am able to call her, even after the school is closed. She usually responds right away. We didn’t have this type of relationship with the administrative staff at my kids old school. I have much more to say but I just love everything about the school.
Ms. Cobb, Parent of 3rd ,6th & 7th Grade Students
I truly enjoy working at FDIA because it feels like family. We have great staff members who are great leaders for the students. The children here are sweethearts, and I am happy to be able to have a hand in their success in life.
Ms. Shaye, Staff
The reason that I love FDIA is because the teachers care about me. Our principal, Mr. Faisal always take time with us, he talks to us and he gives us a chance to tell our side of the story. I spent a lot of time with Mr. Faisal because sometimes I would be acting up, but he always gave me another chance to get things right with my teacher and my classmates. I appreciate spending my summer here at the school for Douglass Summer College. Ms. Brown helps us all out a lot. And I like talking to Ms. Murphy in the office because she always smiles and she tells me to smile too. My grandma and my dad likes this school for me.
Jurrell Lindsey, 6th Grader
I like my school because I am able to be a part of the Douglass Scholars. Mr. Faisal is very patient with us and he teaches us how to be men. I am so happy to have Mr. Faisal as a mentor. I wish all the boys at other schools could come here to see how real men are supposed to act.
Brian Anderson, 6th Grader
We were scouting around for a better school for our daughter, and when we found FDIA we were not sure how things would pan out for us. Well as one of the founding parents of the school we are happy to say we made the best decision in choosing Frederick Douglass International Academy. Our daughter has not only excelled in her academics, but also loves going and being in school. We love the school because it is gearing the kids to be college ready thanks to the leadership of Principal Faisal, and the teachers who have great interest in seeing the best in all the students. Another thing we like is the small class settings they have making it easy for the teachers to manage. Last but not least the school administration is always there to help the parents and students. I fully recommend any parent or student to join Frederick Douglass because they are geared towards excellence and won’t disappoint.
